PSP Homebrew

What is Homebrew? Homebrew is home-made software that you can run on your PSP or DS. To enable this you often need to ‘Flash’ your handheld and use some specialist (but relatively inexpensive) equipment to store the software on. This blog is to serve as an introduction to Homebrew and modding your handheld gaming and convergence devices.

I’ve been using Homebrew on my Nintendo DS since the days of the DS ‘Phat’ and have fallen behind with the times a bit, as I’ve recently had trouble getting Homebrew to work. Instead of just re-learning everything again I hope to share some of what I pick up with the world and hopefully get some hints and tips back as well.

To this end I have ordered the following:

  • Supercard DS One (with a 4gb SDHC Micro-SD card)
  • Pandora Battery Converter

This is the inexpensive equipment I talked about at the start and when they arrive I’ll show you what I do with them.

I don’t have a PSP ‘Phat’ I’m afraid but try some of these links as they are all good sources of information that I have used to get homebrew on my PSP slim.

All the best, and please comment again and tell us if/where you found out your solution.
